Hours: 1-10 hours per week – daytime, evening and weekend shifts

Salary: $18.75 - $20.54 per hour

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
As a member of the Community Services Department, this staff person will provide customer service, supervision, and administration for the City of Belleville’s Birthday Party Recreation Programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Represent the City with professionalism by following all of the Staff Policies and procedures as set out by the Department.
  • Be responsible for the safety and supervision of the participants and for ensuring the rules and regulations as set out by the Community Services Department and/or outside organizations are followed.
  • Be knowledgeable of City Programs and have strong public relation skills when acting as the host and greeter for each party group.
  • Be responsible for the administration of the birthday parties by reviewing the schedules, setting up the party space(s), completing the required checklists, and submitting the paperwork.
  • When required, act as a leader for your birthday group as per the party package details.
  • Act as a resource to direct parties to their rented space(s), ensure the doors are unlocked, and the renters have the supplies they require.
  • Assume the responsibility for assessing and responding to an emergency situation and completing the necessary reports.
  • Ensure appropriate room use, adherence to booking times, and completion of a general clean-up of the rooms to prepare for the next user group.
  • Be responsible for providing feedback to the supervisor, as needed, for any concerns/issues.
  • Attend all Staff Training sessions and scheduled staff meetings, as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of age.
  • Must be at minimum enrolled in high school.
  • High Five – Principles of Healthy Child Development certification
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR 'C' Certification or equivalent from a WSIB recognized organization
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record Check (“CRC”) and Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSC) prior to commencing work at the City of Belleville

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Experience planning and implementing programs for youth
