PURPOSE AND SCOPE
Reporting to the Supervisor Water Distribution/ Supervisor Water Services, Supervisor of Wastewater Collection and the Supervisor of Water Treatment Operations, these positions involve assisting with record keeping and non-licensed activities related to the maintenance of a Level III Water Distribution and Wastewater Systems, Treatment and Operations Facility Maintenance, and Quench Buggy operation at Special Events (including weekends).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • General maintenance activities (i.e., painting, lawn works)
  • Data recording
  • Special projects
  • Assistance to general operations
  • Administrative and compliance record keeping

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Enrolled in a post-secondary program and returning to the post-secondary program in September 2025
  • Class ‘G’ Driver’s License
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • General construction experience preferred.
  • General facility / property maintenance experience preferred.
  • Hand and power tool use preferred.
  • WD or WT OIT certificate.
  • Class ‘D’ or DZ’ Driver’s License.
  • Knowledge of provincial Safe Drinking Water Act and Associated Regulations.
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure and Construction Practices.
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Current First Aid, CPR and WHMIS training.
  • Basic computer skills including familiarity with GIS.
  • Ability to complete tasks involving heavy pushing, pulling, and lifting on a regular basis; work in an uncontrolled environment / conditions; work in a construction environment, i.e. traffic, uneven ground; recognize hazards and be able to assist in mitigating and controlling hazards.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (at least 50 lbs.).
